Porcelain veneers

Dental veneers are an easy way to correct stained, chipped or crooked teeth. The treatment involves bonding a thin ceramic porcelain coating to the front surfaces on your teeth, instantly giving you a bright, straight and natural-looking smile. Porcelain veneers are extremely durable, stain resistant and easy to maintain.

Achieving a natural result with porcelain veneers requires precision, planning and attention to detail. At Plainland Dental we will always make sure to invest in the necessary time and effort to get you the best results possible.

Composite veneers

For minor chips, cracks and discolourations, the alternative technique of dental bonding (or composite veneers) may be all that is required to achieve a healthy smile. This treatment is both quicker and more cost-effective than traditional porcelain veneers.

Porcelain Crown vs Veneers

Porcelain crowns and porcelain veneers will both improve the appearance of teeth, but overall they address different dental concerns. Dental crowns are used to restore the functionality of damaged teeth, and they cover the entire surface of the tooth to both eliminate pain and improve strength.

Veneers on the other hand address only cosmetic dental concerns, and are typically applied to otherwise healthy teeth. The thin porcelain shells of the veneers are well suited to concealing stains, chips, misalignments and other imperfections. The biggest advantage to veneers is that they slide over the front of the teeth, meaning they cover less surface of the natural tooth. This means that minimal tooth structure needs to be removed to accomodate the veneer.
