Promote Overall Health
Good oral hygiene supports overall health, reducing risks of heart disease, diabetes, and infections.
It’s about more than just your teeth!
A dental check-up involves much more than simply looking at your teeth! During a check-up, your dentist will discuss any concerns you have, perform a dietary and hygiene assessment, and thoroughly examine your jaw, gums, tongue, throat, face, and neck. They’ll then examine your teeth for signs of infection, cavities, cracks, or excessive plaque build-up.
At Plainland Dental, we believe in empowering our patients through education. We want you to have a comprehensive understanding of your oral health and be in control of your treatment. If dental work is necessary, your dentist will explain it in detail, ensuring you are fully informed and comfortable with the procedure.
They will also create dental plans with your input to address areas that need treatment. This allows them to tailor dental work to your timeframe and budget. If more work is required, another appointment may be necessary.
What is included in my check up and clean?
Comprehensive Check Up
We take the time to thoroughly address any concerns you may have and conduct a comprehensive examination of your oral health.
Dental X-Rays
X-rays are essential for a detailed overview of your mouth, revealing decay or infection not visible to the naked eye. This helps us detect issues early. X-rays also allow us to track any changes over time.
Dental Clean
A scale and polish remove stains, plaque, and tartar using ultrasonic tools and a gentle polishing paste, far more effectively than at-home brushing. This is important for maintaining gum health and preventing gum disease. Multiple treatments may be necessary for heavier build-up or gum disease.
Fluoride Treatment
The final stage involves applying fluoride to strengthen enamel. Please wait 20 minutes before eating or drinking after your fluoride treatment.
