Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
The CDBS program gives eligible families free children’s dental up to $1,095 per child, every two calendar years.
At Plainland Dental, we bulk bill dental treatment for all eligible children under this schedule.
Is your family eligible for the CDBS rebates?
A child’s eligibility is assessed at the beginning of each year and lasts the whole calendar year. A child is eligible if they are aged 2-17 years for at least one day of the calendar year, are eligible for Medicare and are either part of a family receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A or one of the following Australian Government payments:
- Youth Allowance
- ABSTUDY
- Disability Support Person
- Parenting Payment
- Special Benefit
- Carer Payment
- Double Orphan Pension
- Veteran’s Children Education Scheme (if child is 16+)
- Military Rehabilitation & Compensation Act Education & Training Scheme (if child is 16+)
What dental work is covered in the scheme?
The CDBS covers a wide range of children’s dental services, including:
- Check-up & Cleans
- X-rays
- Fissure Seals
- Fillings
- Root Canals
- Extractions
When booking your appointment, please let us know if you would like to use the CDBS. This allows us to verify your eligibility beforehand, ensuring a smooth visit with no unexpected payment surprises.
The services does not cover orthodontics, cosmetic dental work or any dental services in a hospital. You should check with your dentist if there are any item or time restrictions before starting your treatment.
